A Place Called Heaven
I AM is a series of 12 panels of oil on canvas; each canvas measures 1.5 x 2.1 m, giving a total size of 18 m long by 2.1m high.  I have completed 6 out of the 12 panels.
The title “I AM” comes from the invisible, something who is and hasn’t been made and has always existed.  The main body of the painting is our planet with it’s transformation through time, as we all know our universe started with the Big Bang and after the Big Bang, we saw the development of galaxies, stars, planets etc.
This painting starts with the forces behind the Big Bang. Movement is synonymous with life. Without life, there is no movement; a dead person cannot move; for a stone to smash a glass window – it needs to be projected, either by a person, or by the wind, which itself represents life. Life comes in all different forms; visible, like the trees; or invisible to the naked eye, like microbes; for there to have been a Big Bang there has to have been a life force behind the Bang.
The description of life is fully understood with death.  Life without death is eternal. Death is the cessation of any activity.  Through scientific research, there has been a big discovery about the life and death of stars.  Every living thing is subject to the same process, life and death.

A place called heaven – oil on canvas
Each canvas 1.8 x 2.10 m.  Total size 5.4m x 4.2 m

A place called heaven is a series of 6 paintings, describing the mighty work of God – the Creator.   ‘A place called heaven’ does not just stop at the human level of knowing the empty void of the universe (shown in the 3 lower paintings) but also shows the heaven which is beyond what we can see with our eyes (shown in the top 3 paintings).   There are different worlds; like the visible worlds which are the ones we can see and the invisible worlds, like the world of bacteria; to see them we need another vision or a microscope.  The kingdom of God; or heaven; where God’s throne is; is not accessible to mankind’s knowledge or understanding, nor do people take time in today’s busy life to contemplate the origin of life.  A place called heaven shows the earth as a tiny planet in the whole void of the universe and heaven – to make the viewer reflect on the perception was written in the bible more than 2000 years ago hasn't yet been fully revealed to human hearts:

1 In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth.
2 Now the earth was formless and empty, darkness was over the surface of the deep, and the Spirit of God was hovering over the waters.
3 And God said, "Let there be light," and there was light. 4 God saw that the light was good, and He separated the light from the darkness. 5 God called the light "day," and the darkness he called "night." And there was evening, and there was morning—the first day.
14 And God said, "Let there be lights in the expanse of the sky to separate the day from the night, and let them serve as signs to mark seasons and days and years, 15 and let them be lights in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth." And it was so. 16 God made two great lights—the greater light to govern the day and the lesser light to govern the night. He also made the stars. 17 God set them in the expanse of the sky to give light on the earth, 18 to govern the day and the night, and to separate light from darkness. And God saw that it was good.”
